This summer has been, by far, the most productive and super eventful season. The best part is that I got to collaborate with some very talented individuals within my circle and got the chance to bond with them on a deeper level. There is no other feeling that’s as satisfying as the one you get when you’re aggressively working towards your goals while making quality, lasting relationships with the ones you meet along the way.
Power of Soul Searching & When To Know You Need a Break
I recently took a month long break from work and thus, have been doing a lot of soul searching lately (when am I not?) and it continues to be such a refreshing lifestyle choice. The more I explore myself, the more I realize how little I knew about myself when I started. Not only has this helped me make better life choices, but it has helped me become more and more happy with my own being and thus, life!
My dreams and goals, now, are apparent and clear to me, so much so that I can literally feel them being achieved in my core. The break helped me dwell on what I truly want to do with my life and helped me narrow down my aspirations so I can focus on making them a reality.
Long walks, stimulating thoughts, journaling, I did it all. I literally poured out my soul to anyone who was genuinely interested and did a lot of reflection on my journal. This helped me lighten up my soul from the inside out and lay all of its elements out in the open. Then I basically, cherry picked all the elements that truly made me me, and decided to let go of anything that kept me from unleashing the unicorn within me (yeah, I am an aspiring unicorn).
The more soul searching we do, the more we look for ourselves within ourselves, the better clarity we achieve. This clarity isn’t just limited to notions that deal with just ourselves but others as well. For instance, because I have pondered so much over my own emotions, personality elements, choices, etc. I have also acquired a better understanding when it comes to others’ decisions and personality traits. Instead of just looking at people with a limited lens, I now try to see them from a broader perspective and this has helped me strengthen my bonds with the ones close to me. My new found clarity has also helped me live a more quality-filled life as I am more forgiving when I make mistakes, realize when it is time to let go and time to keep going, as well as making healthy choices in life.
Thus, here I am, risen from within, ready to conquer all.
Quotes I am Geeking Over
Since, I am always always always reading and geeking over astounding quotes, I keep scavenging for them all over. Therefore, I thought why not share my favourites on my weekly posts so I can geek out some more (hehe). Reading not only entertains my soul, but it also helps me when I am soul searching as my readings guide me what to look for and where to look for. I am so indebted to books and literature. Words have helped me become more self aware and continue to expand my mind further. I will forever be a bibliophile, tucked away in a corner or some beach with a book in my hand.

Life will break you. Nobody can protect you from that, and living alone won’t either, for solitude will also break you with its yearning. You have to love. You have to feel. It is the reason you are here on earth. You are here to risk your heart. You are here to be swallowed up.Louise Erdrich
At the end of the day, it isn’t where I came from. Maybe home is somewhere I’m going and never have been before.Warsan Shire
I belong to quick, futile moments of intense feeling. Yes, I belong to moments. Not to people.Virginia Woolf
All I need to recover (at least halfway) is peace and quiet, although a special kind of quiet–or if looked at another way, a special kind of disquiet.Franz Kafka
And that is how change happens. One gesture. One person. One moment at a time.Libba Bray

But only into flesh and a broken whisper.
Into flesh and poetry.

Cherry Hill Gate, Burlington
This lovely photo shoot was done by super talented friend, Emma Bergen. She always picks the most interesting locations and we meet up once a week to do a spontaneous photo shoot. This week she asked me to come by Cherry Hill Gate in Burlington and despite the heat (as you can tell with my melting-make up face) it was such a success.
It is thanks to such collaborations and opportunities that I get to meet and connect with talented beings as well as exploring places which I wouldn’t have come across otherwise. Such moments make me feel truly blessed and convince me even more that the path I decided to take to lead my life creatively and adventurously was definitely the right one!
