Even though winter hasn’t officially started, you can already feel it arriving with full force. When I was in Pakistan, I used to love winter. It was my favourite season of the year; this was mainly because my birthday is in January but the fact we got some break from all the heat was refreshing. However, when i moved to Canada, that was a whole different ball game for me. Winters here are chilly and that in itself is an understatement. With that said though, I actually find it refreshing still and it almost gives a festive vibe, commemorating new beginnings and fresh starts.
December has always had a very special spot in my heart, mainly due to the fact that it is the means to a fresh start and I absolutely love fresh starts! It is also the month of reflections, when you look back at the year, enjoy its happy moments, and learn from the mistakes you made. I always try not to dwell too much in the past, which is why I always look forward to the New Year so I can start afresh with new goals and plans.
Taking Risks in Style, in Life
With 2016 coming to an end, I have started gearing for the new year with a fresh new look and style.
I have so much planned for 2017 and I can’t wait to share with you all closer to it! To start off though, I got a whole new look and style for myself, i.e. I got my hair done! I had been contemplating going light for a while now but was so afraid of taking the plunge. Finally though, I decided to go for it and just see how it turns out and am I glad I did that!
Even though it seems insignificant, taking such risks helps me eliminate fear and encourages me to take bigger risks in life. I never imagined myself going blonde because of my tan skin but I wanted to give it a try anyway. Such small acts of overcoming fear help me warm up for bigger, scarier things and give me the courage to tackle them all with full force. This is probably one of the biggest reasons that amplify my love for fashion as it helps me explore my personality and let it shine through my personal style and look. Going from night to day (kind of literally) gives me the illusion of being anew; almost like a snake shedding its skin and revealing a brand new one in its place. It also helps me get excited for new things coming my way and inspires me to continue moving forward to better, bigger things.
